TPJ Production Notes
Herein find a brief description of the technical process of preparing a paper for publication to the PracTeX Journal.
Papers may be written in any program the authors wish. However, to ensure consistency and ease of production, LaTeX papers written with the pracjourn class are more convenient.
For LaTeX papers:
The authors make their submissions, which are deposited in the subversion repository. It is the choice of the production editor whether further updates to the paper are made by the author or by the editor.
Variations on formatting are unrestricted, although layout and fonts should remain relatively consistent with the other papers in the issue.
Each checked version of the paper should have a corresponding, e.g., \TPJrevision{2006}{02}{01} line in the preamble, and papers that can be processed locally will pick up the issue information from the _iss.tex file that is created for each directory.
For papers that are compiled outside of the tpj repository, an issue line, e.g., \TPJissue{2006}{1}, must also be included in the LaTeX file.
For non-LaTeX papers:
Anything goes! As long as there's a reference to The PracTeX Journal, and the issue year and number, the formatting requirements are fairly loose and to the discretion of the production editor.
